Across four weekends in November 2025, artists are invited to open their homes in Helsinki as intimate spaces for holding grief, pleasure, and solidarity. Through collective cooking, sewing, listening, and reimagining, everyday gestures and rituals that anchor us become practices of home-making, community care and resistance against a world that increasingly urges assimilation.

The project was initiated and curated by Phan Nguyen as part of Pixelache Festival 2025 with the kind support from Arts Promotion Centre Taike and the City of Helsinki.

Participating Artists

๐‘ฎ๐’๐’‚๐’…๐’š๐’” ๐‘ช๐’‚๐’Ž๐’Š๐’๐’ (she/her) is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice centres on sustainability and the natural world. Camiloโ€™s work investigates how careโ€”both as a labour and a materialโ€”shapes personal and collective identities. Her work is guided by an intuitive and emotive approach, often incorporating upcycled materials and natural dyes/pigments.

For H.O.M.E, Gladys will host a collective quilting gathering โ€œGrieving through Quiltingโ€.

๐‘ถ๐’๐’–๐’“ ๐‘ป๐’‚๐’š๐’“๐’‚๐’๐’ฤŸ๐’๐’– is a transdisciplinary performance artist whose work explores the boundary between life and live art often situating artistic exploration in the grey areas between everyday life and artistic expression. Working across text, video, digital media, and installation, they employ performance and embodied-research processes to investigate the performativity beyond traditional art contexts, engaging with social, political, and cultural realities.ย

๐‘ฌ๐’‡๐’†๐’Ž๐’Š๐’๐’† is an artist and producer from Istanbul, currently based in Helsinki, working with historical narratives and speculative storytelling through performance, text, and moving images.

For H.O.M.E, Onur and Efe invite you to their home to share a moment of remembrance for those who are no longer with us. ๐‘ฏ๐’†๐’๐’—๐’‚ ๐’๐’‡ ๐’•๐’‰๐’† ๐’…๐’†๐’‚๐’… is an intimate and participatory performance, inviting participants who are willing to share a table with the absent as part of their grief process.

๐‘ณ๐’†๐’Š๐’Œ (they/them) is a queer non-binary Oslo-born and Helsinki-based performance- and visual artist; an observer, collector, feeler, doer and lover striving for warmth, trust, softness, openness and care in everything they do. Leikโ€™s multifaceted works emerge from everyday encounters and explore topics of normativity, trust, and care through humor, playfulness, and performativity.

For H.O.M.E, Leik will be creating ๐‘ป๐’‰๐’† ๐‘ด๐’†๐’•๐’‚๐’Ž๐’๐’“๐’‘๐’‰๐’๐’”๐’Š๐’”, a performance queerly inspired by Kafka’s story of the same name. It is a work about trying to build a life, existential dread, stumbling and fumbling, falling and failing over and over.

๐‘ด๐’๐’† ๐‘ด๐’–๐’”๐’•๐’‚๐’‡๐’‚ is a visual and sound artist, performer, and writer with an MA in Art and Media from Aalto University. His work spans text, sound, and performance, often focusing into themes of identity, memory, sexuality, and diaspora. His work investigates intersections of sound, politics, and emotion, with a focus on queer Arab experiences.ย

For H.O.M.E, Moe will host an intimate gathering of sonic memory sharing and celebration. The event centers on sounds as a form of reimagining memory and everyday gestures like listening to music together as a powerful act of pleasure-centered solidarity and diasporic home-making.
