Pixelache in collaboration with Station of Commons organises a series of dinners inviting diverse cultural and artistic collectives at Villa Eläintarha.
Build a larger table is a project which aims to gather in a relaxed environment, with food and drinks to hold conversations and share recipes on social sustainability and experiences on working together.
These talks are broadcasted and shared to the public domain through the Station of Commons website. An edited podcast will be accessible in December on Pixelache website and Soundcloud.
The title Build a larger table comes from an apocryphal quote that says “when you have more than you need build a larger table not a taller fence”. The concept resonated with the intentions of this project, where we wanted to share a moment of togetherness and joy around food, in order to have conversations with collectives that have been shaping the cultural context in Helsinki for a long time.
For November’s gathering and chapter 3 of the series, we will invite Kiila, Finland’s longest-running left-wing, writers’ and artists’ organization.
