This year, Pixelache Festival will take place in Suvilahti during 20-24 October. During the weekdays we will host workshops at Oranssi, and on Saturday, the festival will present screenings, performances and music at Tiivistämö.
Facing a precarious context and this sordid Zeitgeist, where everything seems to be oriented toward a warlike and catastrophic narrative in which survival consists of individual salvation with a kit to store your laminated passport, canned food, and a Swiss army knife, it is necessary for art to reinvent collective forms to create possibilities. We may never see the world we want within the span of our lives, but at the very least, we must pass on the hope for a better world to future generations. In the face of accelerationism and individualistic, apocalyptic chronicles, Pixelache festival proposes procedures for the research and formalization of strategies that generate networks of solidarity and community through decelerated processes.
The theme of the festival is about solidarity and collaboration as ways to survive and thrive in this world, rather than the capitalistic idea of the fittest and strongest survive. But it is all just a way to frame the festival, the real excuse is to do things together and have some fun if we can on the way.
All workshops are free of charge, but most of them need previous registration.
